This past Tuesday the provincial government announced updated return to school plans for K-12 schools.
Although much of the conversation about the announcement has centered around masks, and the requirement that all staff and students in grades 4-12 wear them (a topic which can prompt strong opinion and for most of us a desire to be able to move past restrictions), I found much to be thankful for in the announcement.
As hoped, school is going to be a much more ‘normal’ experience this fall. High School, in particular, will look a lot more usual with a return to a more regular and flexible approach to things like student scheduling and athletics.
Over the coming week, we’ll be providing updates as we seek to ensure everyone is as well informed as possible about school start. You can expect:
Monday –overview of the PCS implementation of various government Covid regulations.
Wednesday – overview/review of the first week of school.
Friday – last-minute back-to-school information.
Monday, Sept 6 – grade 1-7 parents will receive an email identifying the teacher(s) of their child(ren).
We will publish all of these to www.myPCS.ca as well as distributing them via social media (Facebook/Instagram) and email.
As a school we seek and encourage your continued prayer support for the school and all our families and staff. We are excited for what God has in store for 2021-22.
Blessings,
Darren Lewis
Superintendent.
